PROJECT DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thirty years ago, Roberto Hern\u00e1ndez was released from prison in the US and returned to Mexico. He founded La Casa de Vida, a free environment that helps expelled individuals, gang members and former detainees to rebuild their lives. Despite illness, loss and betrayal, he persists in his mission for social reintegration. After the death of a friend, he travels to Mexico\u2019s northern border in search of the son he hasn\u2019t seen since his release from prison. On the road, he reflects on past errors and the importance of his life\u2019s work. With humour and humanity, Homeboys<\/strong><\/em> explores the binational identity of returning Chicanos and their efforts to find a meaningly life in a world that rejects them.<\/p>\n
