Indian filmmaker Shrutiman Deori is awarded a 10,000$ grant for his project Shadows of the Forest

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Raised in the lush Garbhanga forest in North East India, Munu faces a difficult predicament – imminent eviction from her ancestral home due to the state’s wildlife conservation plans. She’s not alone, the axe will fall on her entire community. Shadows of the Forest paints a gentle tapestry of the forest community as ancient memories confront the troubled present, slipping in and out of awake and dream state as people share their dreams.
